Cos Collar
Coat - Dahlia. Jumper - Olive Clothing. Shirt - COS. Jeans - Topshop. Bag - Mulberry. Shoes - Clarks

A casual outfit for a Sunday stroll around town... What on first glance can be quite a simple outfit, it’s in the details, when you look a little closer that make me appreciate this look.

This Dahlia trench is perfect for spring, light-weight and full of hidden surprises. Like cute splashes of pink on the cuffs and under the peter pan collar; which turns out to be detachable. What’s even better, this little number has gone into the Spring sale. HURRY, it’s bound to be a mistake.

Next up, this new knit from my favourite brand Olive. Under my coat it looks like just your average grey sweater but alas, cream sleeves and splashes of blue. Oh la la!
Ok this gets better too… especially for you, Olive are giving Love Cloth readers 20% OFF both the colour-ways of the Angora jumper. Check out grey and Ivory. Just use code: OLIVECLOTHING20 if you wish to avail of 20% OFF either (or both)

Teamed with my mock COS shirt. Which you should always remember never to take off your jumper when wearing, as that would lead to a very embarrassing moment. FACT!

Hey now, that’s two perfect spring items with lots of lovely discount! Hip hip hooray.

WE ARE THE DREAMERS OF DREAMING.

Coat - THE WHITEPEPPER. Jumper - COS. Jeans - Topshop. Shoes - Clarks Originals c/o. Bag - Brit Stitch c/o.
Scarf - Electronic Sheep

You know spring is here when we can finally ditch that well insulated winter coat… but, we're not completely out of the winter woods just yet. Best go for something a little lightweight and I may have just found the one!

Trench coats seem to be huge this spring and I love this oversized style from my favourite brand THE WHITEPEPPERNo your eyes don’t deceive you, I’m wearing THE WHITEPEPPER and it’s not a smock!?! Branching out kim, I know. Look at me go!

Speaking of transitional items, these Clarks Originals have been just the ticket and haven't left my feet. A perfect shoe when it's not quite warm enough to flash those feet but when black boots are just to heavy for spring time style. They also follow in the footsteps (couldn't resist) of my other Clarks shoes and win the award for the comfiest shoes I own! I couldn't resist this cornflower blue suede; it adds a feminine twist to a more masculine shoe.

Having a wonder around Shoreditch I was just right in my COS sweater, trench and this pretty Electronic Sheep scarf I pinched from mum ;)

Don't forget, only 4 days remain to enter my competition guys - Check it out here

Top - Missguided. Skirt - Topshop. Boots - Whistles

So i’ve gone back to my bad blogging ways and held on to these photos a bit too long before posting them. Apologies.
Although the sun has decided to make an appearance, I think it’s still cold enough to make this outfit appropriate, even if it is majority black. Hey, whats wrong with black?
I don’t know how this skirt hasn't featured sooner on my blog. By refreshing my memory via instagram it must’ve been December/January when I got this and I have be wearing it ALOT ever since. It’s that perfect piece which can be dressed up are down. Unfortunately I've waited so long to post this I don't see it online anymore sorrrrrryyyy but I did see it still in a few stores lately :)

Worn with my Missguided polo neck which I have also lived in. A bit of a steal at a mere £9 I might just consider the lilac also.
Of course, not to mention the ever growing black boot collection, these beauties from Whistles are what I like to call my "smart dressy pair" ha!

Well thats it from me, until next time lovely people!

Oh Don’t forget my competition to win a Cloud Nine waving wand continues here! Good luck to anyone who enters :)

SIMPLE CURLS WITH CLOUD NINE.

the finished piece

So, I’m by no means a curling hair expert but a few of you have asked for a little tutorial on how I curl my hair. So I thought I would give it a go and with a little giveaway what better reason than that. Firstly i've two ways of curling my hair, either using my GHD's or a curling wand! This is for no particular reason which is random I know. I guess it's what my hand reaches for first or perhaps what mood i'm in... Today, it's the wand. A super big barrel waving wand from Cloud Nine!

So first things first.
Below is my hair in all its just washed glory, it doesn't know whether it wants to be straight or curly MAKE UP YOUR MIND hair!!  I normally blast it with the hair dryer, using a big round brush on the top to add some volume and to smooth it out so it’s a bit tidier.
Then whilst I’m drying the rest I begin to twist it so it starts to realise I want it to be curly and heads that way.
Most of the time I don’t really put much product in my hair, but at this point I might use some sea salt spray into the towel dried hair or some mouse.

start

Next up, sectioning. There is a lot of hair to contend with here. So its best I clip it up into sections.
I normally part it, lift the whole top section and get it into a clip. Then just part the remainder in half over each shoulder. This is normally repeated about 4 times before its all been let out of the clip. I guess the better your section the hair and the smaller amounts you do the tidier and tighter the curls will be. Something usually left for special occasions, today is just what I do everyday.

part and clip
My one piece of advice for when curling hair, is always to curl away from the face but this is just something I go by.

I have parted my hair down the back and brought each side over my shoulders. Then taking one side I will start curling backwards away from my face. Repeating on the other side. I never work around the head, just moving from left to right.
curl
This barrel from Cloud Nine is big and perfect for my long hair. I’m not really one for tight curls, I guess I lean more to waves. So this is exactly what I need. However, if I have something like a wedding or event I usually do them slightly tighter as the weight of my hair normally makes them drop throughout the day. brush it out
Depending on the size of the wand I would usually brush it out but here I just run my fingers through and wa la.
I think brushing it/running your fingers through makes it look a little more natural than the just curled ringlets but this is just personal preference.
My favourite thing about this wand that I haven't seen before is the cute little stand you can take out so it doesn't touch the table or in my case the bedroom floor. Genius!
cloud 9
The lovely folks at CLOUD NINE have given me a curling wand to giveaway. Don't worry a completely fresh one especially for you, I could never part with mine ha! All you have to do is enter using the Rafflecopter below. Good Luck!

Leave me a comment with all your hair curling tips, I'd love to read them :)

TOMBOY LOVE.

DP Jeans

OOTD2

COS Jacket

CLOSE UP

New Balance

White Top - Topshop. Jacket - Cos. Jeans - Dorothy Perkins C/o.  New Balance - Cloth. Watch - Casio

When I was younger I was a complete tomboy, I don’t know age it was when I started to favour pink and smock dresses over blue and my jeans.
I also went through this weird stage of wearing a baseball cap, like, EVERY day. I guess now I’ve swapped that for a fedora.

There’s always a day when comfort comes first and boyfriends jeans are definitely for those days for me. I wish I could pull off that uber cool look of boyfriend jeans and heels but I feel slightly silly... and i’m not that cool. So for me, its all about trainers and bringing back that old tomboy look I once wore.

The boyfriend jeans are from Dorothy Perkins new ‘Style Essentials’ range; they're super soft and comfy. Worn with my new favourite COS jacket. Please someone let me have everything from that shop. Of course no casual outfit is complete with a pair of New Balance. If you missed my last post of how I styled 'The Statement Shirt' (another DP style essential) check it out here.

ohhhhh I've also an exciting little competition happening this week, so watch this space.
